無堿膨體玻璃纖維布是在連續無堿玻璃纖維布的基礎上發展起來的一種新型、高效過濾材料，與連續無堿玻璃纖維布不同之處在於其緯紗由無堿玻璃纖維膨體紗組成，由於紗線蓬鬆，覆蓋率高，透氣性好，因而可提高過濾效率，降低過濾阻力。因無堿玻璃纖維本身已具備較好的耐堿性能，因此可對煙氣中含堿性的粉塵起到高效的捕集效果，此時濾料可有效防止含堿氣體腐蝕濾料，從而使設備處於正常運行狀態。
